Oh guys...you bring back the sweetest memories to me. I've got a bit of the mist in the eyes as I get your picture fixed in my head.

I grew up in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn...only 1/2 block away from the park. The park was known for having HUGE hills (at least they were huge to me at 3-4-5-6-7-8-9-...).With every snowfall, we'd tramp to the Park, pulling our High Flyer sled behind us (a piece of clothes line was our pulling tool). It was pure bliss to hit those hills for the day! I can remember our snowsuits and mittens being soaking wet by the time we returned home.

The hot chocolate give-away sounds like a perfect addition to your play days in the snow. We had to wait til we got home for our treats!!! Hot Chocolate was always waiting...a marshmellow, to plop on top of the steaming mug of hot chocolate, was the extra bonus on really great days!!! Ahhhh, the memories your blog stirred up...thanks!

Keep making your memories...you will treasure them forever :-) NYC is a wonderful place to live and play!!!

By the way...NY used their garbage trucks with snow plow attachments as long as I can remember...in fact that's the only type snow plow I can remember seeing in those days.

Have fun!!! can't wait til; we see you again and make some more memories!

We sure did play in the snow! We got about 7" ... more in some areas where the wind made larger drifts. We even got a cup of hot cocoa in our coffee shop down the street. Now we're into the slushy freeze where everything is dirty and half-melted / half-frozen ... but it sure was pretty when it started!

So, did you get out to the park to play in the snow! It would be a shame if you just had to go to work. We didn't get as much snow, but it is still on the ground 2 days later. Maybe it will get warm enough to melt by tomorrow.
