We have a big election coming up in the US. Everyone knows that. And while on most days it’s not headline news here in Asia, occasionally, important stats and updates to make the “Turn to page 8″ call out box on the front page.
It’s helpful to have people report on this issues back at home, and so you can understand my joy when today’s help came appeared in the International Herald Times from truth-speaker Dave Barry himself.
Do to the power of the internet, you too could benefit from this sage wisdom: Iowans have corn, Floridians have coconuts.

LOL That’s awesome! Doesn’t it feel great to know that there is an end in sight? But I imagine the feelings might be mixed. Its great to be finishing but how often does one get to experience another culture so fully?

Ah YES! The polls…we live in Florida…and we voted today! After voting, we were thanked for coming to vote. I asked if they could please COUNT our votes..just this once
! (They didn’t get that bit of sarcasm)
As Dad was leaving, one of the workers thanked Dad and said : “Come back soon!”…Dad asked if he could return in 10 minutes or sooner??? (They didn’t get that either)
Voting in Florida continues to be insane!!! Dave Barry has explained the “process” perfectly!!! …there is NONE!!!!! Votes don’t count if you are a Democrat living in Florida…and they only count for HALF, if you’re a Republican. The Independents have it easy…there are NO candidates running for that party so they have the day off
