Well, I’m official. My business cards arrived in the mail this week, and I’m now in the 1-bedroom loft apartment I’ll be calling home through February. I could complain that the beautiful 2-story giant windows are on the 1st floor and so overlook the bus stop (as its waiting passengers look over me), but I’m not going to. Instead I’m going to be happy that I can *finally* unpack my suitcases and begin to feel a little more settled in this temporary home.
But I miss my Conrad! I miss NYC! I miss our friends and family. So that whole “absence makes the heart grow fonder” thing is totally true. I’m happy to be here and have this work experience, but I’ll be even happier to go Home when the time comes.

Your positive attitude moves me every time!!! No lemons for you…just lemonade!!! Now I must tell you one thing…Dad is having a very hard time with you…it’s this way: He’s used to being on the TOP rung of your ladder…and then you married Conrad and his placement was altered (a rung below top)…now, he’s reading your BLOG and realizes that he comes after NYC, and friends..phew!!! I told him it was just in “storytelling” NOT real life…I guess the saying IS true…absence DOES make our hearts grow fonder…but Christmas is coming soon and we can’t wait!!!
Now for some Moma news…there is finally a CARE package via the “snail” Priority Mail system. I mailed it just as soon as I knew you were finally settled. This is a test… Let us know as soon as you get it…and then I can send the special stuff…like homemade treats!!! I love you, Beck!!! xoxoxo …and thanks for the directions to your web site for the Moms…as soon as I can understand it and can follow the directions, I’ll give it a try. Until then, I’m still on the direct line route to your blog…still: Your ever-lovin’ Techno-Mom
For the record, DAD, I live in a constant state of missing you guys … so I guess I think it goes without saying! PLUS I live in an ever-constant state at work of WWMFS … “What would my father say?” In fact, I’ve already introduced the Singapore team to the importance of last-firsts. Butttt…. maybe you should just book that flight and plan on coming over here if you miss me so darn much!
Don’t lie to make them feel better. You know I’m number one
hey, so it’s not true unless I see pictures of this place. Until then,i can only assume that you’re in NC
Your extended family certainly misses you, too; even though we didn’t get to see you that often any more. Conrad must REALLY be missing you; he has called us more often!
Can’t wait until Christmas to be with you all again!

You ordered business cards for a 4 month assignment?
Heck yeah! The big boss said they’d be a good keepsake. And as soon as I got here people started asking. Seems the culture.
